Action Cameras was
launched in London in January 2006 by Sab Jhooti
and Robin Parker
. The objective of the
company was to lead the way in bringing the latest developments in helmet
camera technology to Europe, provide excellent
customer service and have fun while doing it.
Our customers all have a passion for extreme sports. We wanted to provide
products that would enable our customers to record and share their experiences
and get more out of something they all ready love. Everyone has different
budgets and requirements and we set out to provide the widest range of products
so there is something for everyone.
Over the last three years nearly every model of helmet camera sold was first launched by Action Cameras including the Oregon Scientific range, GoPro Range, VholdR range and the Drift Innovation range of cameras to name just a few. In addition to being first to launch new
products we have been at the forefront of marketing the whole concept of “action
cameras” and you can see from our press section we have appeared
regularly in national press, action sports magazines and TV.
Since launch we have quickly developed a reputation of providing high quality
equipment backed by great customer support. We have provided camera systems to
several F1 teams, Red Bull air racers, Super Bike teams, Rally Teams,
production companies, The BBC, Olympic athletes and thousands of action sports enthusiasts across Europe.
Our team has grown over the last four years and we only take on people who
have a passion for what they do share our desire for wanting to build us into
one of Europe's leading action sports
companies.
In addition to providing our products to customers across the world
through our website, we also distribute a number of the products we sell to
trade customers across the globe.
In June 2007 we launched our French website www.actioncameras.fr. 2008 saw us launching our updated www.actioncameras.co.uk
website and expanding into Spain
with www.actioncameras.es
and Portugal
with www.actioncameras.com.pt. In October 2009 we expanded into Italy with www.actioncameras.it as well as Sweden with www.actioncameras.se. 2010 has seen us spreading our wings outside of Europe and into Africa, we are excited to open of our Johannesburg offices and launch the actioncameras.co.za website.
Since launch we, as the company and the members of the team, won a number of
business awards including being a London Winner of the HSBC Start-up Stars
2008. The award recognises start-ups which are exciting and have demonstrated
success in a short space of time. In September 2009 Our UK country manager (Warrick
Kernes) was awarded “The Outstanding Young Business Person” award
for North West London. These awards and the many nominations we receive is a
testament to our commitment to our customers and everyone who works with us. We
are hoping to win more awards in 2010!
